Do our pets go to heaven and especially do dogs go to heaven?
Find the answers in Missy Dog. This inspiring book about visiting heaven is the first book in a Christian book series for children.
Look at the cute puppies. The people in the Walmart parking lot said, "If we don't find homes for them, they are all going to the pound. They’re free!" I thought to myself, if there are any left when I'm finished shopping, I’m going to get one.
After shopping, there was just one left. I got my free Walmart dog. Her name is Missy.
Missy was so cute at six weeks old, but not big enough to go up and down the front stairs. She soon
learned to navigate the stairs with the enticement of some treats.
She grew and became my best buddy. She was an excellent watchdog. We were together almost all the time. We went on walks and rode in the car together.
Missy rode on the front passenger seat when she was young. One time she fell on the floor during a quick stop.
So to keep her from falling, I would put my arm in front of her before stop signs and say, "Hold on". It didn't take her long to figure out "Hold on" meant for her to brace herself.
One of her favorite things was when I said, "Do you wanna go get pizza?" Oh boy, she knew she would get some pizza, too! Sometimes it was, "Do you wanna go get a burrito?" or "Do you wanna go to the park?" She would get so excited! Off we would go.
We were best buddies and did lots to things together.
One day Missy dog got very ill. The vet couldn’t do anything for her. My last words to her were, "Thank you Missy for being such a good dog. Thank you so much, I’ll see you in heaven."
You may be wondering, do dogs go to heaven?
Years ago the Lord allowed me to see the front entrance of my mansion. It had a long curving walkway going to the front door. On one side there was a high wall with blooming orchids growing on the wall.
There was a large entry door. I went inside to a foyer that had a very high ceiling and what looked like a marble floor.
Recently when the Lord pulled me up to heaven, he asked, "What would you like to see?" Since I love growing flowers, I asked to see my garden. I was eagerly expecting to see a bunch of beautiful flowers.
Immediately I was on the backside of a building. I didn’t see the building, but I felt it behind me. In front of me there was a wide central pathway with green shrubs on each side of the path.
I was so disappointed, all I saw was green! I thought where are the flowers?
Just then, I saw Missy charging towards me at full speed! Wow!
It had been almost 3 years since Missy dog had left earth. I crouched down to pet her and she knocked me on my butt.
We were so happy to see each other. She was trying to lick me in the face. I started to put my hand up to protect my face, but the Lord said let her lick you. We don’t have to worry about germs in heaven. She was so happy to see me.
I said, “What do you do Missy, do you play with Penny?” Just then I saw Penny dog standing in the distance.
She said, "Yes, I play with Penny and
with Dan‘s dog". Immediately I saw Dan, my nephew in his blue jeans and a
country shirt like he wore.
He said, "Aunt Carol, it's (heaven) better than I
thought". I was blown away!
It was such a joy to find my two dog buddies in heaven waiting for me at my mansion. They are not bored. They get to run and play and visit with my nephew and his dog.
Do dogs go to heaven? Missy dog did and it was awesome to see her! There's more to the story, more about visiting heaven. My nephew's childhood pony was there, too. Yes, all our pets go to heaven!
It's a pleasure sharing my experiences with this Christian book for children.
